Introduction
If I were to ask you what happened within our Adventist church in 1888, would you be able to give an answer? Are you aware of the significant events that occurred during that time, or can you only hazily recall the date 1844, and 1888 means nothing to you at all? It is a sad truth that many of us are completely unaware of the special events God put in motion during the 1888 General Conference session of our church.
During this conference, He sent two people, E.J. Waggoner and A.T. Jones, to speak a critical last-day message to His people. This message was designed to call God's followers to get serious about Him, and to prepare themselves for the final events of the end times. Sadly, however, not all of our church accepted this message as God planned, and to this day it has slipped through the cracks, hidden behind a shadow of ignorance and complacency. Satan has been successful in keeping God's church from accepting this message as God intended, and has effectively concealed the message from many Adventists today. It is the goal of this article to show you, a follower of God, how important this message is to you and why you cannot afford to ignore it.
Now is the time to stop wandering around halfheartedly; now is the time to see what God has sent to us in His Word and what He desires for you, me, and all followers in our generation to do.
